Protection of election right is the logic base of the Electoral Code of RA. Accordingly, the Code with its articles regulates all the means through which the voter should have the opportunity to exercise his constitutional right freely. Regardless of the election format, both state and local, the authorities claim that these elections are better organized than the previous ones. Saying word combinations like “good”, or “a step forward” we understand that the ballot boxes or people are not stolen, obvious stuffing and violence are decreased, halls are relatively more available, etc. However, these indicators do not show the exact number of voters who are not able to use their constitutional right to poll compared to the previous elections. This is considered to be the most important and key index of the electoral processes in the whole world as well as in Armenia.
In order to complete the picture we toured in all 16 polling stations of 21 constituency in Armavir city.
Sidewalk ramps exist only in 3 polling stations and only one of which provides the necessary slope level for the wheel chairs to rise safely.
We did not succeed to obtain data on the exact number of people with limited opportunities to move from Armavir Regional Government. However, disabled rights protecting NGOs informed that registration was very difficult, especially among adults who were deprived of the opportunity to move, but still their number could be more than 200.
Protection of the rights of the persons with limited possibilities of movement has regularly been voicing in various projects, but nothing is changed. Consequently, more than 200 people are deprived of their constitutional right to vote.
